My friend Melissa took pictures of my family, and I stroke a pose. This might be the only appropriate time to share this picture – let the fun begin! I am purposefully pursuing my writing career, and this is where I will be doing much of my writing. I’m so glad you’re here!
I have been working on this site for a few weeks. I wanted it to be perfect. No matter how many tweaks I made there were always more to be done. I wrote and re-wrote pages. I added and deleted content multiple times trying to get things just right. Then I came across this post and this post, and realized there will always be changes to make. Then my blog guru (a million thanks Luke!) reminded me that you learn as you go. If something doesn’t work, we change it. If something needs fixin’ we fix it. If something needs to be added, we add it.
Now that you are here I would love your feedback. I know you are busy, but if you could spare a few moments and look around, I would appreciate any comments or suggestions you have. Even if you only spot a typo, or if you have ideas of what might work better on some of my pages, I am completely open for suggestions. I also appreciate any words of encouragement. Overall, what do you think? I am open to constructive criticism, I am only learning as I go.
I will be posting here 2 times a week and I would love for you to keep in touch. All you have to do is subscribe and you will receive all new posts directly to your email.
I also set up a Facebook page, you can visit me there or just “like” it from the widget on the sidebar.
Again, thank you so much for being here. Please don’t leave me hanging, what do you think?
Oh, and would you help me spread the word?

Looks great Ellen! Love the purple and simple design. In the first line of the third paragraph I noticed a typo, spear instead of spare. Simple fix, but otherwise looks great! I’m looking forward to reading more and participating in the prompt when I’m able!
Thanks Beck! It was a simple fix and I do hope you join in the writing prompt.
Fantastic website Ellen! I love the simplicity of it, yet it’s full of good information. Can’t wait to visit again 🙂
The only thing I noticed was an extra space in this sentence on the writing prompt page: I love community, so I hope you link-up your post and share your writing with the rest of us. I also hope that this writing-prompt exercise helps your writing.
Wow Josie, you are good! I could not even see it so I had to go back and edit and actually do it manually. Yes, there was an extra space!
Well yes, I’m a little OCD like that 🙂
Just have to say I ADORE this picture of you.
Ha! Because you know I really look like that in person, right?
Fantastic website, Ellen. Well done! Exciting stuff, friend :).
Thank you my friend 🙂
Just stopped by to check out the new site. I have to say that I really do love it. I also checked out your Facebook page. I can’t wait to read more! It’s always nice to hear from other mom’s that live the life of special needs. You seem to have a better handle on things than I do… so I’m hoping that I’ll also learn from you. Thank you :0)
Kandy, someone once said to me, “grieving is not a speed sport.” Dealing with a diagnosis for our kids involves grieving the child we thought we would have. We all travel our own journeys, we all have different personalities. There is no right or wrong way to feel, we just do and we work through those feelings as they come. What I love about our special needs community is that we don’t have to do this alone. We can learn and lean on other people. If I am not strong, others can be strong for me, and other times, I can be strong for someone else. I still find myself grieving over my girls’ disabilities as new stages come our way. it is an ongoing process, we never just “get over it” and move on, but we can move on by focusing and the blessings rather than the hardships, and find beauty (even great beauty) in the journey.
Thank you for stopping by! I would love to hear more about your journey, shoot me an e-mail and let’s connect 🙂
