The person who enjoys the first snowfall of the season.

Who doesn’t mind going to a grocery store on snowy roads — or clear roads.

A person who can shake off that feeling

of uncertainty

of helplessness

of wishing things were different

for my kids

and your kids.

It’s been a long stretch for this world

our world

And sometimes

some mornings

it feels too much.

The pain

the loss

the division…

too much.

Today, I wish I were a person who could enjoy that first snowfall for its beauty

rather than fear its power.

Maybe tomorrow

I can be that person.
